EXPECTING parents and young mums and dads are welcome at the Pakenham Pregnancy, Baby and Kids Expo this weekend.
With 54 exhibitors, entertainment and workshops, the expo will be an informative and fun day out.
Michelle Newton from Hire for Baby in Pakenham is organising the event.
After talking to parents and customers at her store, Michelle decided that there was a need for such an event in the area.
“It’s about trying to provide a service to parents. In Pakenham, there are no nurseries or baby stores,” she said.
All proceeds raised by the event will be going towards the 4Cs (Cardinia Combined Churches Caring) food bank.
First prize in the raffle is a Babylove stroller, with a total of 25 prizes to be won.
Kids can also be entertained by the jumping castle and face painting, while parents browse the stalls or go to one of the four workshops.
Kidsafe Victoria will be on hand to teach parents about baby-proofing their homes and Nature Direct can help parents understand the benefits of natural cleaning products.
Lotus Calisthenics in Pakenham, Lakeside Lutheran College students and Hey Dee Ho music will be providing the entertainment.
Tickets to the expo are $5.
The family fun day starts at 10am and will finish up at 3pm at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on Saturday in Lakeside Boulevard in Pakenham.
