A NEW vision focusing on community needs was launched at Monash University Berwick Campus on Monday.
Key components of the Campus’ vision include 10 new locally relevant courses in 2012; new strategic partnerships with the City of Casey Economic Development Unit, the Victorian Department of Human Services and Department of Health and Chisholm TAFE; and further development of social inclusion programs for schools and industry in the region.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Berwick and Peninsula Professor Leon Piterman said the vision was one that engaged with and responded to regional community needs through research, teaching and training in an environment of social inclusion.
“To fulfil our vision, we have created a range of unique programs, courses, new teaching methods and articulation pathways with internal and external partners to meet regional needs,” Professor Piterman said.
New courses being offered in 2012 include the Bachelor of Nursing (Community Care), Bachelor of Social Welfare (majors in Aged Care and Child Welfare), Bachelor of Health Promotion, Bachelor of Education (P–10), Master of Teaching (Secondary) and Bachelor of Social Science.
Full details of courses being offered at Monash University Berwick can be found on the Monash website.
