THREE sporting clubs in the Narre Warren South electorate have received a funding boost from VicHealth.
Narre Warren Junior Football Club, Narre Warren South Tennis Club and Sterling Calisthenics Incorporated each received more than $2200 from the VicHealth Active Clubs Grants Program.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley congratulated the clubs and said the grants came at an important time as the community was still recovering from the summer floods. Following the summer floods, VicHaelth’s 2010/11 funding pool was bolstered and it extended the application deadline for sports clubs in flood-affected areas, including Casey.
“It has been a pleasure to support our local sporting clubs to get these special grants,” she said.
“Sports is a very important part of our community in the City of Casey and surrounding local communities.
“The sports clubs in and around my electorate always make good use of the various grants they receive.”
Ms Graley encouraged local sports clubs to contact her office on 9704 6055 for assistance in applying for grants.
