TWO feature races highlight an eight-event harness program at Warragul tomorrow.
The $6000 Traralgon Pacing Cup has attracted a good quality field, where ace driver Chris Alford is chasing his fifth victory in the race, this time behind Golden Grinder.
Golden Grinder is part-owned by Warragul Harness Racing Club committeeman Don Collins.
Alford won the Cup twice when it was run at Traralgon, and drove He Has Risen to win last year, and Great Saint in 2008.
The Traralgon Pacing Cup recognises the staging of harness racing at Traralgon’s Glenview Park racecourse from 1975 to 1995. The race was reintroduced at Warragul in 2006.
Also on Friday, the $7000 Eastern Challenge heat has drawn a good field, which will be vying for a place in the $20,000 final at Cranbourne later this month.
Support races tomorrow include several Gippsland trained pacers.
Friday’s meeting serves as a warm-up to the feature $25,000 Warragul Pacing Cup on 24 April, Easter Sunday.
The first race is at 1.15pm.
