Hand for volunteers

THREE local volunteer organisations have received a financial boost to help recruit and train volunteers.
The Cranbourne Family Support Centre, Casey Aquatic and Recreation Centre and the Brentwood Park Primary School received a combined $6,950 from the Victorian Coalition Government’s Volunteer Small Grants program.
The Cranbourne Family Support Centre received $4350 to provide uniforms, official name badges and training for seven part-time volunteers.
The Casey Aquatic and Recreation Centre received $1600 for the to purchase IT equipment to co-ordinate the centre’s volunteer program, which currently has 36 volunteers.
Brentwood Park Primary School received $1000 to buy equipment and materials to enable volunteer members of the lunchtime clubs to run embroidery, tapestry, knitting, carpentry classes for students. Members also run the World Vision – Kids Hope Mentoring program where volunteers tutor individual students once a week all year round.
