As a long-standing member, Mr Burns was offered the chamber’s first honorary membership.
As Mr Burns retired, new members joined the committee in the annual election.
Under a new committee structure, City of Casey councillor Sam Aziz declared all positions open.
Mr Neilson was re-elected as president and will lead alongside vice president Paul Jones, secretary Karen Watson and treasurer Richard Edwards.
New positions were filled to replace the previous general committee positions, including Tim Allan as minute’s secretary, Matt Drew as member’s secretary, Grant Ebert as marketing and public relations and Lane Burdett as webmaster.
Guest speaker, Narre Warren CFA fourth lieutenant Tony Bundock, concluded the night with a presentation on the station’s role in the 2009 Black Saturday fires.
The evening was well attended by members and guests, including Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley and Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North Michelle Frazer.
