THE problem-solving skills of students from six Casey schools has reaped big rewards.
Students from Eumemmerring Secondary College Fountain Gate campus, Dandenong Valley Special School, Maramba Primary School, Fountain Gate Primary School, Oatlands Primary School and Narre Warren North Primary School have initiated many different projects to improve their school community.
Some students have been busy tackling problems of littering, swearing and bullying in and around locker areas, while others have come up with new lunch-time activities.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford recently presented all students with awards in recognition of their hard work and listened as they explained how they had been dealing with problems within their school community.
Cluster educator and Eumemmerring Secondary College teacher Emma Clark said the special presentation was a way to recognise the hard work of students.
Cr Bradford congratulated students on taking a proactive and positive step towards improving their school community for their fellow peers.
