PAKENHAM Pumas Baseball Club is on the hunt for new junior players for the coming Dandenong Baseball Association season, beginning in April.
The club will hold a Come and Try Day on Saturday week from 10am with Baseball Victoria development officer Grant Karlsen.
He will be on hand to run the kids through some fun games designed to introduce them to baseball.
Club president Rob Printz encouraged parents to bring their kids down and give baseball a go.
“It’s a fun sport, it’s easy to play,” he said.
“Everyone gets a shot, you get multiple shots – in cricket, you get one shot at batting; in baseball, every innings you get a shot.”
The Pumas are hoping to field under-12 and under-14 teams for the coming season, but children from as young as eight can play in the under-12 competition.
The club will also host an internal tee-ball competition for children aged between five and eight, which provides a good pathway into the older baseball competitions.
All junior teams are for both boys and girls.
