A MAN has turned himself into police two weeks after a woman was shot in the face while eating outside a Berwick restaurant.
Police said a Devon Meadows man spoke to detectives at Narre Warren Police Station on Saturday after being encouraged by family members to do so.
Casey Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Larry Grimshaw said media coverage, including a front page report in the Berwick News, outlining the victim’s injuries played an integral role in the investigation.
A 22-year-old man has been charged with firearm offences, serious assault and conduct endangering serious injury.
He will face court at a later date.
Police said a 19-year-old Hampton Park woman would also be charged on summons.
