Anthem Run

CASEY residents belted out the tunes as they auditioned for the chance to sing the national anthem at the MRA Cranbourne GP Run next month.
Twenty-six musical hopefuls auditioned at The Factory Rehearsal Centre for the Arts in Cranbourne East on Sunday 12 September.
City of Casey River Gum Ward councillor and chairperson of the MRA Cranbourne GP Run organising committee Wayne Smith, who formed part of the judging panel at the auditions, said the judges had a tough time short listing the contestants.
“Everyone who auditioned should be commended for their musical talents and for the enthusiasm shown towards the competition which will ensure the entertainment at this year’s GP Run is exceptional,” he said.
Ten people have been short listed and will battle it out for the top spot at Centro Cranbourne Foodcourt on Friday 1 October at 6.30pm.
“I encourage as many people as possible to come along and support these magnificent singers as they compete to sing the national anthem in front of a crowd of more than 10,000 people at this year’s MRA Cranbourne GP Run,” Cr Smith said.
The City of Casey is pleased to present the 2010 MRA Cranbourne GP Run on Saturday 16 October, which is proudly supported by the Motorcycle Riders Association Australia (MRA), Victoria Police, Star News Group and Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce.
