CARDINIA Shire Council is holding a free e-waste recycling day for residents on Saturday 22 May at the council depot in Pakenham.
E-waste includes any non-functional electronic items such as computer systems, televisions, audio-visual equipment, toasters, hair dryers, microwaves, blenders and other electrical goods.
Cardinia Shire Councillor Collin Ross said council was exploring every opportunity to reduce waste going to landfill.
“Like myself, I am sure many others have broken unrepairable electrical items that can be recycled,” Cr Ross said.
“I encourage residents to use this service rather than putting electrical goods out in the hard waste collection.”
From 9am to 1pm, residents are invited to drop off their electrical items at the Council Depot, Purton Road, Pakenham.
Proof of residency will be required.
