PAKENHAM families doing it tough can now get more economical in the kitchen.
Emergency relief provider 4Cs has launched a new cookbook based on food items it distributes to Pakenham’s needy.
The ingredients may be basic but the food is far from bland with tantalising soups, salads and main meals featured.
4Cs administration manager Sue Friend said people didn’t have to be a whiz in the kitchen to whip up the meals.
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for clients who don’t know how to cook lavish meals,” she said.
Funding from the ANZ Star Foundation enabled 4Cs to produce an updated version of its old cookbook.
ANZ staff also provided some of their own recipes for the updated version.
To get a free copy of the cookbook, drop into 4Cs at 1 Main Street, Pakenham.
